CAPO has a long history of World Class Powerlifting performances and a proud reputation of strict and consistent judging standards. As a result, CAPO Records have an unsurpassed prestige in the World of Powerlifting. CAPO Record Holders are truly an Elite group of lifters.
As of 2008, CAPO maintains Australian Records for both 'Raw' (unequipped) and 'Equipped' lifters ('equipment' being: Bench Shirts, Squat Suits, Deadlift Suits, Power Briefs, Erector Shirts etc). And at our National Championships each year, CAPO lifters are officially eligible to set World Records with the World Powerlifting Congress (WPC) and Global Powerlifting Committee (GPC).
The Rules governing CAPO Australian Records are taken from our parent organisation(s): the WPC and/or GPC; (the latter basically being a more restrictive version of the former). The most up-to-date version of the rules can be downloaded directly from the International Website(s).
The Rules for CAPO Raw Records are effectively identical to the WPC Rules except for disallowing Squat Suits, Bench Shirts etc (note: wraps and belts are allowed). The full set of Raw Rules can be found at:
